Taxidermy is my passion, not just a job.
In January of 2002 Jeanette Hall discovered taxidermy. Growing up with taxidermy on her grandfather's walls, she always admired the art. As a college project she took a skin to be tanned to a small taxidermy studio in Clovis, California. That is where she was mentored one on one by master taxidermist Rick Lieder. He showed her the basics and from there she began competing at local taxidermy competitions. She won her first ever first place with a whitetail buck in 2004 in California. She learned that competing helped to bring up her art to a new level and she attended several shows in California, Idaho, Illinois and North Dakota winning many ribbons along the way. In 2006 Jeanette competed in the National Taxidermist's Association show held in Billings, Montana. There she won her first major award- National Champion Game Head with a gemsbok pedestal mount; which she harvested in Sonora, Mexico. Jeanette moved to central Alberta in 2008. In 2009 she competed at the World Taxidermy Competition held in St. Charles, MO. Jeanette entered the competition with a full pedestal cape buffalo and won 3rd place in the Master's division, not an easy task! She opened The Game Preserve Taxidermy in central Alberta summer of 2010.
An avid hunter as well
Not only is Jeanette Hall an accomplished taxidermist, she is also an avid hunter with bow and rifle as well. She has hunted the United States, Canada, Mexico and Africa. Jeanette knows the value and work that goes into acquiring your hard earned trophy. That is why she strives to ensure you achieve the highest quality mount. Each trophy is treated as her own and mounted as if it were destined for the show arena.
Attention to detail
In her quest for perfection, Jeanette has spent many years blending research and reference for the many mammals that she works with. Because she spent countless hours studying anatomy and behavior of many species of animals, she can transfer this knowledge to her taxidermy providing you with incredible detail and unmatched realism.
